Updated Privacy Policy: GDPR Compliant

GDPR, or the General Data Protection Regulation, to use its full title, is steadily climbing up the agenda for most businesses that operate in the online space in the UK, understandably so as the 25 May 2018 deadline for enforcement looms ever closer.

At Assenty we are putting measures in place to ensure we are compliant with the new regulation which replaces the UK Data Protection Act 1998 (DPA).

Assenty is a question board service which solves the problem of answering questions from an audience. Like many other online services, we require some personal data from our users in order to deliver our services.

One way we are impacted by the upcoming GDPR is in our privacy notice.

We’ve updated ours to include information on the lawful basis for processing personal data on Assenty. For more details you can read our updated Privacy Policy.

GDPR covers a host of other areas relating to data privacy and protection. Updating our Privacy Policy is just one of the steps we’ve taken to ensure compliance with the GDPR standard.

For those wanting to start, there is more information on the GDPR on the Information Commissioner’s Office website including a handy privacy notice checklist.
