#FemaleTechFounder Night – March event round up

Missed March’s #FemaleTechFounder event?  Here’s your brief round up, complete with videos, and podcast!

The next one is round the corner on Wed 28 April, 12-1:30pm and tickets are going fast – sign up here!

March’s event was all about money.  Thanks again to our inspiring speakers Lisa Chee MBE, founder, Start Up Coach and Hannah Forbes (@hannahsforbes),  founder, The Funding Crowd.

Lisa Chee MBE kicked things off in our Q&A panel discussion on removing the guesswork from pricing decisions. Lisa and her sister famously won TV chef Gordon Ramsay’s F Word cookery competition, placing Sweet Mandarin, the restaurant inspired by her grandmother firmly in the Top 100 restaurants in the UK.

We all found it very, very informative – she presented seven pricing strategies and their applications at different stages of startup/business life and busted some myths around setting your pricing.

Here’s a video snippet – do yourself a favour and watch, there’s a lot of knowledge to be gleaned.

As you can imagine there were lots of questions from the audience – here is a link to video from the Q&A session.

After the starting Q&A we had the ‘always too short’ networking break and then we were back together to hear from Hannah Forbes about crowdfunding.

Hannah started successful crowdfunding consultancy The Funding Crowd while studying crowdfunding at PhD level so she had some astute observations about running campaigns on the main crowding platforms.

Women have found a lot more success raising funding via crowdfunding platforms and it was insightful to hear her reasons why.

Here is a video snippet of her talk. Another must watch!

The full event is available as a podcast so do check that out if you want to know more?

The next event is on Wed 28 April, 12-1:30pm and we are joined by none other than the NatWest Business Builder team headed by the illustrious Heather Waters (@heatherwaters15), Regional Enterprise Manager North West, NatWest Business Banking for a pitching workshop, ending with 60 second pitch spot for anyone in the audience up for taking part.

The NatWest Business Builder team support the acclaimed Entrepreneur Incubator scheme at NatWest which has helped thousands of businesses across the country start and scale so this is one not to be missed.

They have promised to critique each 60 second pitch which is fab!
